PRACTICE
Brian spent his first three years practicing personal injury law. He joined the firm in 1999 and since then has worked in a number of areas of aboriginal law with individual and band clients. Brian has been heavily involved in residential school litigation, including the leading British Columbia cases. He has appeared in BC Provincial Court, BC Supreme Court and the BC Court of Appeal. Brian also has participated in settlement conferences and negotiations for many residential school claims and other cases involving First Nations people which have resulted in successful out of court settlements. Most recently, Brian participated in and was a signatory to the National Settlement Agreement regarding Indian residential school cases.
BACKGROUND
Prior to his law career, Brian worked extensively for many years in the residential and light industrial construction field. He had his own construction business in the Lower Mainland. During this time, he also did work in mediation and alternative dispute resolution for business associates that culminated in him enrolling in law school.
