PRACTICE
Myron specializes in assisting First Nations and their respective companies and businesses in their economic development activities and initiatives. He has a broad range of experience in the negotiation of economic agreements with third party interests who wish to do business with First Nations on their reserves and in their traditional territories, particularly in natural resource and environmental/regulatory assessment matters. He has negotiated and assisted in implementation of agreements in the areas of hydroelectric development, forestry, pipelines and mining, along with health and social services. His commercial and corporate law experience includes the incorporation of Band-owned companies, negotiation and drafting of joint ventures, limited partnerships, shareholder agreements, trusts, impact-benefit agreements, contribution agreements and virtually all forms of commercial documents including leases, contracts, guarantees, purchase and sale documents and security instruments.
BACKGROUND
Myron earned a Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and worked in Calgary, Alberta for three years as an accountant and economic analyst for Amoco Canada Petroleum Company Ltd. He obtained a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Calgary before enrolling in law school at the University of Saskatchewan. He articled with the firm of Clark Wilson in Vancouver and remained as an associate for four years before setting up his own practice in West Vancouver. He specialized in civil and criminal litigation for a number of years before focusing his practice in the area of aboriginal law, which he gained from his experience working at the firms of Donovan & Company and McDonald & Company in Vancouver.
